So I have an announcement to make!

My next Gorilla Rotation project features J'Nique Nicole, the singer-songwriter who co-created and sings the NieRAutomata songs. J'Nique Nicole released her own album last year, a few singles before that, and has been singing backup for artists like Toshinobu Kubota, AI, Dai Hirai and such.

She's a talented singer-songwriter with an amazing voice!

And this time, I got to work with her on this song.

About the song

Firefly is a 90's inspired power ballad. J'Nique's voice was perfect match for the electric piano with beautiful strings. The strings (violins, viola, cello) were recorded by Son Mach from The United Saigon Orchestra in Vietnam. If you like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey, this song is definitely for you.

I wrote the song in 2018, and I immediately knew this was a song for a female singer. I had to take a break from producing the song due to the pandemic. You have no idea how excited I am about this release! It's been a loooooong time comin'!
